Sheldon Allan "Shel" Silverstein (September 25, 1930 – May 10, 1999) was an American essayist, poet, singer-songwriter, musician, composer, cartoonist, screenwriter, and a children's hack who is mostly known tail his children's book The Conferral Tree. He has won bend in half Grammy Awards.
